He took his last drag off his dying cigarette and flicked it from his fingers. It fell just short and bounced off the railing, landing back on the balcony where he sat.
“So close,” he whispered barely audibly and chuckled at the irony.
The rain was coming down in sheets making it hard for him to see the lights in the distance that kept him centered but it didn’t matter. He was content. He was ok. He was.
He knew the answer was out there. He had felt it’s presence for a fleeting moment and then it was gone just like the feeling of success after one of his meaningless video games. It left a weird taste in his mouth to have been so near and yet so far. That or it was the cigarettes; he couldn’t tell for sure.
It was time for him to get up. Time for him to face the rest of the day no matter how begrudgingly he sat rooted in the feeling of the moment.
“It’s been fun,” the rain seemed to say.
He rose and took one last look out across whatever the rain didn’t obscure.
“Yeah, it has. Thank you for that,” he replied out loud as he slid the door open and crept silently back inside to join the real world once more.
My favorite, not for technical style, but just because I dig the costume, the color, and the vibe.
These are my finals for my second crit. I think what I will start doing is posting my favorite as a separate post just so it can be enlarged. If anyone would like a bigger shot of these though, just ask. I am more than willing to post a bigger version.
New stuff. See? I told you I’d be back. Let me know what you think. This was all done for my alter ego photo project. I’m missing one that I need to find but for now this will suffice, I’m sure.
Comments greatly appreciated and encouraged.
So, we have already had one class critique but, unfortunately, I didn’t have my photos printed in time for the showing. Hopefully, I will have some of those posted soonish for your enjoyment. In the mean time, I will be working on my photo project for the dream/nightmare project. I am very excited for this next one so I hope I will be able to produce work that can make you excited too. This is a link to a photographer that I recently found and really like. My stuff should be in a similar vein as this.
my final project will be a comparison between light and dark. I will try and take identical pictures of the same scene once during the day and once during the evening. It should turn out to be an interesting study on the difference between light and dark.
These are some of my favorites from my most recent shoot that was based on the parking garages on campus. I love the colors that came through on each of the shots. I feel like they were pretty strong for what they were, plus, they were pretty important to me. The parking garages have always been a safe haven for me when I needed time to myself so I decided to discover some of their intricacies. Let me know what you think.
Since I have my dad’s old Minolta and lens I could totally use it for this project. I would only really need some interesting colors or subjects to shoot but otherwise, this could turn out to be pretty fun and interesting.
My parking garage photo shoot will be up soon. I totally forgot my printer paper today so I’ll need to grab some and then print tonight…even though I am broke. Oh well, such is life.
